I just got a 'new' Saab.  It's a 1987 900S with the typical Clarion
radio.  The previous owner gave me the card that came with it with the
radio code.  I looked at it and thought I memorized it, and entered it
wrong a few times.  Then I went and got the card and did it right, but
it still wouldn't accept it.  I seem to remember someone writing a long
time ago about this subject, and saying that you only get so many tries
to put in the right code, and then you have to clear out the radio by
leaving it on for 7 hours or something like that.  Does anyone know what
to do at this point? 

As a footnote, I tried the procedure in the Radio Code FAQ here on TSN.
He said to hold down the 'Band' button until the word 'code' appeared,
then re-enter the code.  He didn't say how long to hold the 'band'
button, or whether you should hold it down in combination with any other
buttons, but I tried several times and could never get the word 'code'
to appear.
