Saab Continues Best Year Ever With September Sales Up 112 Percent

* September new car sales are up 112 percent over 2002.
* 2003 YTD new Saab sales post a 23 percent increase versus last year.

Norcross, GA - Saab Cars USA blazes into the new model year with banner sales
for the month of September. Saab retail sales totaled 4,374 vehicles versus
2,060 for 2002, a 112 percent increase. This brought year-to-date sales up 23
percent to 37,459, continuing Saab's best sales year ever in the U.S. market.

'The pieces of our puzzle are coming together, and the result is consistently
increasing levels of success,' said Debra Kelly-Ennis, President of Saab Cars
USA. 'The advertising is speaking to consumers, who are visiting our
strengthened dealer network in higher volumes, giving our great products the
opportunity to impress and sell.'

The Saab Certified Pre-owned program continued its momentum through September
as well. CPO sales were up 111 percent over last year, from 412 to 868
vehicles. Year-to-date, CPO sales have reached 7,165 units, up 137 percent.

'We have challenged the dealers to perform at a much higher level and they
are delivering,' said Ed Peper, Vice President of Sales for Saab Cars USA.
'This applies to not only new car sales, but Certified Pre-Owned as well as
Parts and Accessories.'

Saab Parts and Accessories sales were up 13 percent over September 2002, and
are tracking up 12 percent year-to-date.

October 1 marks the official on-sale date of the all-new 2004 Saab 9-3
Convertible. The Swedish manufacturer anticipates a renaissance for the newly
styled drop-top icon. Early reviews of the convertible tout the merits of the
vehicle's increased rigidity and excellent driving characteristics.
