Left Hand Turn Click Click

This one is driving all of us crazy. It started four months ago. The car
is a '90 9000T with 150,000 mi. on it.
When I pinned the steering wheel to the left and began to turn there was
an audible click, at a steady pulse, emanating from the right wheel. Over
the past four months the click has stayed at the same volume but now
occurs with any left hand turn. Only a left hand turn.
I gave the car to an experienced Saab mechanic who jacked it up and
checked out the front end and took it for a test drive. He couldn't find
anything wrong.
Most people say its a CV joint. He says a CV joint would not distinguish
between directional turns. BTW the boots are not broken.

Any one with any ideas on this one? Would a brake pad rubbing a somewhat
warped rotor make this sound upon left hand turns?
