Dale!
To replace the leaking left axle oil seal do the following:
Lift the car and support it, take the front left wheel off.
and place a bowl under the axle.
Take the clamp off the rubber bellows of the inner
companion flange and release the bellows.
Release the 3 bolts and nuts that secure
the left lower balljoint to the swivel arm.
Turn the steering all the way to the right side and pull
the steering knucle with the drive shaft, leaving the whole
thing hung on the spring strut and the drive shaft restin aside.
Open the 6 bolts that secure the companion flange to the
transmission house and move the flange with its' bearing
seat out. You will need a plastic hammer for this
and special care as the adjusting shims of the differential
housing stay right behind and may fall out. Be very gentle
working this step. About 2 litres of Dexron fluid will come
out.
When the companion flange with the bearing housing is out of
the car, remove the spring retaining ring from behind the bearing
and press the companion flange out.
This stage, take also the bearing out of its' house and replace
the oil seal.
assembly is in reverse order and don't forget to clean all relevant
parts, fill the companion flange with new grease and top the oil
level in the transmission with Dexron fluid.
Good luck.
