High Beam Failure

I am not familiar with how the circuitry on the 87 9000 may differ from
that on my 95, but my high beam failure was caused by a problem in the Lamp
Control relay, an orange box. I had previously tested the headlamp relays
to no effect. And while only my LH high beam was affected, at times the
symptoms were the same as yours; a delay between switching on the highs
until it eventually came on. Other times it refused to come on at all.
