and you correctly pointed out:

But you also lower tire pressures when going to larger tires. Tire
pressures are correlated to the loading on the tire (i.e. car weight)
and their size to achieve the tire manufacturer's designed contact
patch. An extreme example is my Lotus Europa using 175/70x13 (very
old car and size) that has factory recommended tire pressures of 18
psi. The Europa has a laden weight of about 1500 lbs.
