Central Lock and Alarm

My 95'NG900's (99700 miles) alarm and central lock is gone. The alarm was
going crazy from time to time over last few weeks and then one day central
lock stopped doing its job and at the same time no response from the alarm as
well. I had looked at the archive and tried the 'reset computer' procedure
but it did not help.
        Today in the morning I had a little battle with the gasoline tank lid
as the 'manual opening procedure' did not work very well and I had to use
some brute force to get fuel in...luckily nothing damaged.
        Is there anything I can easy check (fuse 20 is OK and front seat
heating works) before visiting the dealer? If you went through this and ended
up with the repair shop what is the most common problem I should expect them
to find?
