    Well I've been in contact with some list members off list about my
beloved 81 900S, and thought I'd bring everyone else up to speed. If you
remember, my Saab died after intermittent missing at high speeds.
Through much trial and error (mostly error) I believe I have determined
the culprit to be the fuel pump. However not before I foolishly
disassembled the fuel distributor (I know, I know, read the manual
completely before taking things apart lol). At any rate, it now weeps
fuel, so I am going to replace it as well. I nearly had a cardiac arrest
when the local parts store quoted me a price of $1,500.00 for the
distributor!! I survived by finding a rebuilt one online for $140.00.
Pump is around $280.00. I thought about a salvage yard pump, but I guess
I just don't fully trust a used pump. At any rate, I'm also replacing
the O2 sensor, and thinking about the injectors as well. I know it's not
economically sound to put this much money into a car this old with
nearly 300,000 miles on it, but the rest of the car is basically sound,
I can't afford a new one, and to be frank I just love this car!
    About Bosch plugs. I'm surprised that they are this inferior. I have
found most Bosch items to be of very good quality. I have a set of Bosch
+4 Platinum plugs in the aforementioned 900S. What is the D.I. Cassette?
Does my Saab have one? Should I replace my plugs with NGK's? Any advice
would be appreciated. I'll let you know when my Saab lives again.
