Tom, the power door locks on my '87 900S went out last summer. The control
unit, IIRC, is slightly larger than your fist, black, and located roughly
in the center of the car behind the kick panel.

I assume you've checked the fuse for the locks? On my car, the same fuse
also controls the delay lighting for the interior.

My problem turned out to be the wiring from the driver's door up to the
fuse box, in that relatively exposed area of the inner fender. My car has
some of that bad wiring where the insulation crumbles. Fortunately, it
seems to be limited to door wiring only, and not any critical systems.
Right now I'm just waiting for the time and opportunity to replace all of
the door-to-fusebox wiring on my car. Who knows, maybe I can even fix my
inoperative passenger shoulder belt!

Good luck!
