Amy - Don't take the car to any automatic car wash. I'm a Saaber but I
bought a 97 VW Cabrio for my birthday in '97 and its owner's manual states
that any high pressure directed at the window seals will cause a leak
because it presses on the seals. My car is completely water tight, but
when I wash it with my pressure washer at home I can get a little bit of
water between the seals and into the car. If you live in the South like I
do, hand washing should be no problem at any time of the year. If not, I'd
suggest a wash bay where you can aim the pressure wand away from the seals.

Not sure what to do about your cloth top, mine is vinyl and it does not
require any treatment/preservative. The canvas tops for Saabs are
expensive so I'd suggest reading the owner's manual carefully for some
information about how to maintain the top.

Paul Bob
