The manual suggest an oil change every 10 000 =
>miles. Do you think it is realistic, or should I stick with every =
>3000miles rule?

Given a choice of 10,000 miles or 3000 miles, I'd pick the 3000. I think
5000 is probably a happy medium, though, especially with the V6 being
non-turbocharged, not having timing chains (it uses a belt). Oil quality
is a factor as well - and driving habits. Many short trips put much more
stress on the oil than long trips. People who use synthetic oil and who
also drive long distances have used a 10,000 mile change interval with
great results. People who use 'whatever' oil and drive short trips can
find their engines ruined from a sludge clogged oil pickup screen with a
6,000 mile change interval.
