I am considering buying a new car soon.  I have been a devought BMW fan for
years, but my 1986 325es has been letting me down too much lately.  I would
love to buy another one, but I want something much newer than my current
one; with airbags and more reliabiliy.  This has led me to Saab's, which
seem to be much less expensive on the used car market, for the years that I
am looking for.  I would like something that is '94 or newer.   I have been
reading lately about the various engine choices and the consensus seems to
be avoid the V6.  Having to change the timing belt on my BMW currently is a
hassle I already hate, so this seems fine with me.  Now, I am trying to
decide whether to get the Turbo or non-turbo.  With what I've read recently,
Turbo reliability concerns seem to be a thing of the past, so is there any
reason not to go for it? Is a turbo substantially more expensive?  My
research also indicates that the automatic transmission is very good and
dependable.  I have always driven a manual tranmission, but am considering
an automatic this time.  I think I might have a better selection if I'll buy
an auto.  Is there anything else that I should watch out for? I really want
a five-door; information has suggested that these were the only models
produced in '94- Is this true?  What should I expect to pay for a car from
this year? Anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for it? Any
information is much appreciated! Thanks!
