Assuming this is an '8-valve'.
Could be any one of a hundred things - but when it happened to me, it was
the 'Lambda' relay sticking - which locked the engine in 'permanent lean'
running. You should always be able to hear a characteristic buzz or hum
from the lambda relay and the valve it drives. You WILL hear it when the
engine is running properly, if you don't hear it when the engine is running
crappy, then that's the problem.
