FWIW My wife dumped one of our remotes in a bucket of
water and a mild vinegar solution. Took it out of the
bucket, removed the battery, washed it thoroughly in
fresh water, let it dry overnight, put in new
batteries and Voila!! Nothing. No lights on the fob,
no locking the car. Tossed it in a drawer and forgot
about it for a month or more until I came across it
looking for something else. Pushed the button and the
horn beeped and the car locked. Lights still don't
work on the fob but it locks and unlocks the car.
Find a dark place to let it hide for awhile before you
take it off to the dealer. It may come back on its
own when its thoroughly dried out.

Aloha
Peter O.
