I have monitored the comments on this fluid with interest over the 18
months that I have been on this list.  I have been using Redline MTL fluid
for the last 3 months in my 1990 900 5 spd - 144,000kms.  For what it is
worth , I make one or 2 observations:

1. Our starting point is that SAAB, awesome company that it is, has stuffed
up in the field of 5 spd gearboxes in the past ie. the pinion bearing
problem.  It also recommends that on my car, you never change the fluid.
(Mmmm....) The 9000 5spd's don't even have a drain hole!! (Some or all
models?)  In other words, I don't trust their recommendations for gearbox
fluid.

2. 99% of the comments I have read on this list are very positive about
Redline. The recent 1% who disagree have hardly taken a scientific approach
to the subject and are prone (with respect) to making rash comments.

3.  I myself have noticed a huge change for the better since using the
product. Gear changes are so easy, especially when compared to what they
were like in winter.

4.  I have done a lot of homework on Redline as a company.  Nobody in the
drag / stock scene in Australia has anything negative to say about them.

Conclusion:  thus far, there is no solid evidence that Redline stuffs 5 spd
SAAB gearboxes up.  If we see a trend to the contrary, then perhaps there
is a reason for concern.
