To coin a phrase, 'That's life in the big city'.

The lights certainly didn't break by themselves. What exactly happened
will probably never be known, but I'd compare bumper heights with your
'friendly' neighbor's cars.

They are hard plastic, and hard plastic cracks & breaks fairly easily.

There is a company that makes a product called 'Stonguard'. Basically a
sheet of adhesive, flexible plastic. Helps protect headlights from stone
chips. Might help yours, ***IF*** the damage was indeed from a 'light'
hit, but if someone put the full faith & credit of an Exploder into it,
there's little that will help. Try the TSN sponsors for Stongard

'Standard sizes' ??? Unless you bought a semi tractor, nothing on any
cars comes in 'standard sizes'. Each is designed and built for that
model of car, in some cases for a particular year or years of car.

My advice: find a garage...
