Look in the engine compartment below the firewall. There should be a rubber
piece bonded to a piece of metal in the gear linkage which you can identify
by having someone move the lever as you look. It has probably separated & a
new one is easy to fit. That is what was wrong with my 92 9000T which had
similar problems. A lot cheaper than a new transmission.
