I'm an owner of a 9000 turbo M88 with manual gear. Sometimes dashes for
automatic gear came out on display and sometimes lights vanished. So I
eliminated contacts for automatic gear which had a false '-' signal that
tilted computer. I tested computer on my desk with a power supply, inputing
random signals to check various functions on display but for two days
lights didn't came off. Now I've put computer on my car and there are no
dashes more. I kept engine running for several minitus when suddenly lights
went out. Computer is not off, cause I can watch display with an external
lamp, changing display with INFO button. I've noted that heat could cause
this problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Applause and many thanks to
the genius who'll solve the problem. Warning!!! It's not the light fader
under the clock (a simple photoresistance) cause when you disconnect it,
lights stay on as It was night (low but visible).
