Window Regulator

I've got the driver's-side rear door on my '87 9000T apart to figure out
why the window keeps falling down, and what I can do about it. Turns out
the little barrel on the cable has come out of its home, and the cable came
off one of the pulleys. Getting the barrel back into its little socket is a
relatively easy thing, but getting that cable back onto its pulley is
looking pretty darned impossible because of the tension involved. Anyone
have any tips on how to do this? I'd hate to have to spend $180 on a new
one just because I don't have the Popeye forearms it would take to get this
thing back together.
