Come on Samantha, that old car is dated as a dodo, so send it over to me,
I'll take it off your hands!

Warning signs of impending transmission failure are bearing whine under
load on the highway. Typically it begins in 5th gear, over time
progressing to 4th, then 3rd gear under acceleration.

If you haven't done a heater valve yet, expect to do one eventually.

Turbo: Just keep on changing your oil at regular intervals. Nobody knows
how long a Turbo! will last, maintenance is the key.

If you're ever concerned about a repair cost, just price a new car, figure
out the monthly payments, add in the additional insurance, then get out
the repair records for your '86. Chances are you spend 2 or 3 (or less)
car payments a year in repairs, CHEAP for a really, really fun car.

I think the classic 900 was the bestest most reliable car SAAB ever built.
Right now cars and parts are cheap and plentiful, though they're all
starting to get a bit old.

Good luck!

- Thor
