It could be fuel starvation. Is it possible that the new mass air sensor
is either the wrong one or defective? Defective new parts are not that
unusual.

I just read a tuning project on another make of vehicle, and fuel
starvation at higher rpms was a problem because of an aftermarket air
intake system that improved airflow. If you have done modifications, they
may have been causing the problem. In the test project, the problem was
that the engine was not calibrated for the higher air flow, causing less
fuel to be metered out at high rpms.
