Water Leak

It's been a while since I called for help of my fellow SAABERS; I hope you
could help me out as much now as you have in the past.
I have a 1989 900 convertible. When I recently lifted up the rug and mat
on the driver's side, I noticed that it was quite soaked with water. I
checked all other areas (i.e. passenger side front and rear as well as
driver's side rear) and all were dry. My first thought was immediately the
heater valve, but there was no anti-freeze in this liquid. The top is
relatively new and the windshield was recently replaced. To rule out a
shoddy windshield replacement, I had them remove the windshield and re-seal
it again. This didn't seem to solve the problem. I was told by the body
shop that the next step would be to start removing interior parts and pour
water on the car to locate the source of the leak. At $60/hr. labor it
wouldn't take long to add up to a sizeable bill.
Would anybody out there know what are the most likely sources for a water
leak of this nature.

Thanks in advance for any help.
