having driven lots of swedish, french, and italian cars through new york
winters, i am sorry to say that the 9000 was the least stable on bad winter
roads. no matter what, you might be looking at an improvement.

185 65 winter tires on 15 inch wheels would make the viggen fantastic in the
snow at low cost, though it would offend the senseless commercial trend of
pretending that cars like the viggen shoudl have big, expensive winter wheels
and tires that are overly aggressive, stupid, and a waste of money in the
snow belts. upstate winters are a no nonsense proposition in my view.
pragmatism should rule. why waste money on fancy 16' wheels that you might
end up replacing a few of ? not to mention the high cost of 16' snow tires
versus 15'.

since you asked for comments, i will also stand up and say, however, the 9-3
does not have the fanatical levels of safety or build quality in its details
that the 9000 does...the 9-5 is much better than the 9-3 in this regard.
with your 9000 in mind, go over the 9-3 and 9-5 closely. look at the
details. pillars, door hinges, doors, hardware, etc-- NOPE! look at the
cars THEMSELVES with a sharp eye and an open mind...not even close.

doesnt mean a 9-3 shouldnt be bought, but whatever...

good luck
jay
