My 87 900T did this despite a couple of new master
cylinders and a new clutch. Bleeding the slave
would give relief for a while, but the behavior
returned, especially when it got cold out.

The 'standard' clutch job I had done involved
rebuilding the slave cylinder. When I replaced the
slave with a *new* one, it never happened again.
This is over 5 years, and 150,000 miles.

You may want to swap out the slave cylinder for a
new one, and post the results here. I was going to
do a FAQ on this problem, but I have never found
enough bandwidth to do it. There used to be a fair
amount of traffic on this subject.
