NWOSC Board member Michael Padilla suffered theÊheft of his 1985 SPG last
week onÊ busy downtown Seattle street (Fairview Ave E.). Those of you who
have seen his car know how much he had put into it, and what a great ride it
was (is). Michael is offering a $1000.00 reward for any information leading
to the return of his car. Let's face it - there just aren't that many black
SPG's running around anymore. If we all keep our eyes open, we may be able
to help him with its recovery.

AsÊisturbingÊs the theft of Michael's car is, even more troubling is the
report from the Seattle Police Dept. that there has been a wave of Classic
900 thefts in the last few weeks. So be carefull, or at least make sure your
insurance is paid up.

Here is the message Michael has asked me to forward to the membership:

Here's a description (executive summary: If you see a black SPG with
tinted windows andÊHROME SPG wheels, call the police):

My car is aÊompletely restored (and I mean everything works and is in
perfect condition, including seats, dash, headliner, etc) 1985 900 Turbo SPG,
with:

-VIN: YS3AT35L2F1022125
-WashingtonÊic. no. 'K8 BUSH' (VINTAGE YELLOW & GREEN PLATES) (nowÊo longer
available) personalized plates, (Kate Bush was aÊeter-Gabriel style
songwriter from the 1980s) w/ chromeÊlate frames integrated with
plasticÊovers
-Original Black exterior, tanÊnterior
-LargeÊertical European headlights
-EuropeanÊeadlight wipers
-Chrome grille
-SecondÊouter) set of BoschÊoglamps with 'Bosch Pilot' covers
-Inner set of Bosch foglamps have plastic chip guard covers
-CHROME SPG wheels: I know of no other set of such wheels in North America
-tinted windows
-European market rear decor panel
-Rear Window Louvres (the original w/ 'SAAB' punched out along side metal,
w/o rear taillight expansion)
-Original dual exhaust pipes fromÊAABÊccessories catalog
-Side outlet covers
-That's just the outside; the interior hasÊvery option availableÊhat was
available in the SAAB accessories catalogs from 1985-1993; if you see this
car, theÊhings to look for are the wood dash, rareÊront centerÊrmrest,
SAAB extra gauge package and wood shifter from the SAAB accessories catalog.

I am heartbroken that this car I've owned for 12 years is now gone; the terms
of the reward are simple: If anyone is able toÊrovide specific information
that directly leads to the recovery of this vehicleÊn undamaged condition on
or by February 11, 2004, I willÊrovide a reward of (U.S.) One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00). My contact information follows:
