There's no fault code specifically for corroded wiring. What should be done
when a component-related fault code is set is a careful examination and
cleaning (or possibly contact-pin replacement) at the throttle body
connector (under throttle body), the pedal potentiometer connector (above
the gas pedal), the ETS brain connector (under the driver's seat) and the
ABS/TC brain connector (rear side of the battery tray).

An O2 sensor fault code is set in the Trionic (engine management system)
whenever a throttle body (or related wiring) problem causes limp-home mode
to kick in. So, your O2 sensor is most likely OK.

If a bad component is suspected (e.g. pedal sensor or throttle body), there
are some simple tests that can be done quickly for confirmation.

Replacing the safety valve is not necessary unless it is confirmed that this
valve is faulty. Again, it is a very simple solenoid-type device which can
be tested very easily with proper use of the Tech-II.

It sounds like the SAAB technicians that you have visited mostly know what
they're doing, and since throttle body malfunctions are relatively common on
the affected 9000T cars ('92-'95), this is most likely a good diagnosis.

Now on to the cost. CAD1900 struck me as an unreasonably high figure. The
current exchange rate is 1.6 CAD/USD, so this would be nearly USD1200.
Consider the following when deciding whether or not this is a good deal:

Throttle body part number: 88 22 348.
List price: USD575.
Labor time to replace: About 1 hour (no special tools required).
Labor time and Tech-II time to calibrate the system: Not more than 30
minutes.

Note the following:

The service manual says that the calibration procedure must be performed
with the Tech-II immediately after the new throttle body is installed.
Starting the car without calibrating can cause permanent damage to the new
throttle body.

Kachina Cadillac advertises in the NINES magazine, and offers substantial
discounts on original SAAB parts to the SAAB community (usually about 25%
off list). Their number is 800-955-1205, and the guy I normally order from
is Mike Lewis. They should not have a problem shipping to Canada, and if
they don't have the throttle body in stock, they will definitely be able to
get it from one of the USA distribution centers (PA or CA) in approximately
three days. This is not something that must be special-ordered from Sweden.

Best of luck.
