Using incorrect plugs in 9000 cars with Direct Ignition (red 4-coil ignition
module, no distributor) can result in various levels of poor driveability,
especially at higher boost pressures.

The correct plugs are:

NGK BCPR6ES-11 (NGK stock number 6779) for non-turbo DI cars.
Available at NAPA, Pep Boys, Parts-America, and your SAAB dealer.
Search http://www.napaonline.com/
by NAPA part number NGK6779.

Search http://www.partsamerica.com/
by part number 6779.

SAAB part number 02 44 772 (4-pack).

NGK BCPR7ES-11 (NGK stock number 1095) for turbo DI cars.
Available at NAPA, Parts-America, and your SAAB dealer.
Search http://www.napaonline.com/
by NAPA part number NGK1095.

Search http://www.partsamerica.com/
by part number 1095.

SAAB part number 02 44 459 (4-pack).

Plug gap should be 0.039'

Note: the '-11' in the plug number means that the plug is pre-gapped to 1.1
mm (0.043'). This is a nominal value, so it can vary out-of-the-box from
one plug to the another. You should reduce the gap on a '-11' plug to
exactly 0.039'. The non- '-011' versions of the above two plugs are
physically identical to the '-011' versions, but are pre-gapped to 0.8 mm
(0.031'). The non- '-011' plugs should be the same price as the
corresponding '-011' plugs. So the alternative plugs are:

NGK BCPR6ES (NGK stock number 2330) for non-turbo DI cars.

NGK BCPR7ES (NGK stock number 3330) for turbo DI cars.
