If you bought new batteries for the fob and it still doesn't work, then it
might be the same situation that I had several years ago.

I had driven my 96-900SE turbo to a relative's house to visit and locked it
up tight with the fob. When I came out it wouldn't unlock. I went and
bought new batteries and pressed the button a bunch of times at every angle
all around the car and nothing worked for me. I had to call SAAB and they
called a tow company to tow it to a dealer. I WAS STRANDED. I had to borrow
my relative's car to get home. The dealer had to replace the security
module in the main box (under the driver's seat -- they broke the seat
controls while fixing the module -- it was a second trip to the dealer). I
LOVE MY DEALER...NOT! After replacing the module they just hooked their
little handheld computer to the car's port (under the steering column) and
re-programmed both Fobs.

This was 'fortunately' all under warranty.

There is no way to release the car once it's locked up tight. You can open
the door with your key and listen to it honk for several minutes. So, your
car is probably stuck in you driveway until it gets fixed. Any SAAB dealer
can hookup their handheld computer and unlock your car if the security
module is still working. If it's toast it will probably have to be towed,
replaced and the Fobs reprogrammed.

Make sure you give all the fobs you want working to the dealer, because
they will need the fobs to enter them into the security module when they
reprogram it.
