Hit Deer

I was driving home from work around midnight or 12:15 am. The road was =
three lanes in each direction, 40 foot grass median, 55 posted speed =
limit. East bound traffic was flipping on their brights near where high =
tension lines crossed over the highway. I was busy puzzling out why (are =
my brights on? no. Police speed trap? hmm) when the butt end of a 220+ =
pound white tail deer showed up smackdab in front of my driver side =
headlight. NO time to swerve or brake. The front left corner of the car =
slammed into the deer's hindquarters, destroying the headlight and turn =
signal assemblies, denting the front hood edge and buckling the hood =
slightly. The deer flipped backward onto my hood, driving his 12 point =
rack through the sheet metal, then slammed into my = windshield. The
windshield held, and the car remained controllable. The = deer was killed,
I was only a little startled. A couple days later, I = straightened out the
sheet metal as best I could, and picked up and = installed $50 worth of
used headlight and turn signal parts.=20

I'm still annoyed the deer was gone when I went back to pick it up the =
next morning.
