It will be nearly impossible to import that car to the US. The LPT from that
era was never imported, so the manufacturer will not be able to certify that
it meets US emissions standards (even if they were willing to). There are
exemptions for cars over 25 year of age, but yours will not qualify for that
any time soon. The one remaining option is to demonstrate that the car is in
compliance by running a full EPA certification test ... the cost of which
(with no guarantees) would buy at least a couple of 1990 900s that are
already here.
