Mechanics: Westchester NY or Southern CT

Had mixed experiences with Beck Volvo/Saab in Yonkers NY recently. They
were friendly at first when I brought in my Saab 1994 900 Turbo
convertible, and actually saved me money when what I'd thought was a head
gasket leak turned out to be a valve cover job, less expensive to fix. You
can understand my appreciation.

But I'd also inquired about getting an extra keyless-entry remote. They
quoted me almost 200 dollars; I politely told them that was too pricey for
me, thanks anyway. Then they wanted to charge me 40 dollars for
'diagnostics' related to the remote. I was baffled -- what diagnostics?
After some huffing and puffing on their part, they didn't charge me the 40
bucks after all, but the guy who called me back to say the car was ready to
be picked up turned nasty without provocation, and told me not to come
back, 'cause we don't need your business.'

Question one: does the 40-dollar initial charge seem justified to anyone
here? And should keyless-entry remotes cost 200 dollars?

Question two: Anyone know a good, reliable, experienced, honest,
no-attitude Saab mechanic or dealership in Westchester County or Southern
Connecticut?
