My 90 9000, so far, only has a slight door binding. However, this reminds
me of a similar situation with the early 90s Dodge/Chrysler minivans,
where the door post actually tears. From what I was told by an engineer
friend who owns one, in regard to the problem my father was experiencing
with his (I do not own one), the whole door post was somewhat
'underengineered'. No kidding. Chrysler has a similar repair method to
what Phil Matt had mentioned on the 9000s, but in this case they actually
welded in extra reinforcement. Perhaps in Saabs case the association with
Fiat still lingers? And here I thought the lower door rust was the only
9000 body problem.
