That was true way, way back with the 99/900 alloys that took the flat
surface nuts. Not true on 900 or 9000 since 1981.

Since there is no difference, any color difference you see is due to lot
purchased, brake dust on them, or possibly a variation due to the wheel
style, but it doesn't make any difference which you use, especially if you
have a hubcap.

If loud, but polite complaining at Pep Boys gets you nowhere, they are
available at a Saab dealer.
