ACC II Temperature Sensor Tip

I have had problems with the interior temp sensor of ACC II on a 9k
cs for a while. The root cause for the incontinuous operation seems
to be too weak magnetism between the magnet of the spindle and the
two coils on the body.  I measured the air gap between the parts to
about 0,4 mm.

I took the unit totally apart: opened the housing, removed the temp
sensor pcb (printed circuit board) by pulling it slightly outards
and slided it to the side (the wires are long enough). Then I
removed the brass bracket, firste de-crimped the ends at the main
pcb, then pulled the brass part out together with the spindle. I
took the spindle out of the brass part and cleaned the bearings from
dirt and old lubricant. I sanded down the axle of the spindle by 0,2
mm, thus reducing the airgap between magnet and coils to 0,2 mm.
After reassembling the unit it turned considerably easier when
blowing at it. I tested it out of dash, it worked fine for a couple
of starts. The startup is the most difficult but once it starts it
will run.
