Having just gone through this myself, I feel I can be of assistance. You can
do this yourself. Make sure you buy a stereo with two pre-amp outputs if you
plan on using the stock amplifier. You will need to cut off the stock wiring
harness and wire the two sets of pre-amp outputs from the deck to the speaker
wires listed below. The stock amp takes pre-amp inputs. You do not want to
wire the speaker outputs of the deck to these speaker wires or the volume
will be much to great and you won't be able to adjust the volume properly.
Here are the pinouts for the Saab 9000 93+ Harman Kardon/Clarion stereo:

12V - Red
12V Memory - Grey
Ground - Black
Power Antenna Lead - Green
Dimmer - Brown w/white stripes (you probably won't use
this unless your new radio supports a dimmer function)
Amplifier Remote Start - Yellow

Speaker leads:

LF + Brown
LF - Green
RF + Red
RF - Blue
LR + Brown/white
LR - Green/white
RR + Red/white
RR - Blue/white

Any DIN sized deck with two pre-amp outputs should work great. It took me
about 2 hours from removing the old deck to having an installed working
system, and I gained another cubby hole where the CD player used to be. If
you want to yank the stock amplifier you can just wire the speaker outputs
from the deck directly to the speakers, but this would require giving up the
stock subwoofer and rewiring the speakers directly to the deck.
