Handling in Snow

Tell your Brit-bud I had a '79 900T standard with Hakkepellittas. Now,=20
I drive a 9-3 automatic with Michelin Alpins (and a schoolbus). The '79 =
was robust through the drifts, gummy on glib ice, a smashing car through =
the slush. The 9-3 is just as good. Both, unstoppable; both steady and =
secure. Even my wife, who never drove the '79 and is a woos, loves this =
secure feeling and especially likes the 'S' feature with the auto.

Occasionally, I try to lose this car on ice to test the tolerances; push =
the envelope. Again, I mash the brakes to see what will happen. I have =
no hesitation in saying the car will not let your bud down in winter.

Search the articles archive on the website for the Alaska-Florida =
marathon piece from a US newspaper, where your friend will find great =
comfort in the words of the husband-wife team who blasted through one of =
Calgary's worst snowstorms, leaving SUVs and lesser vehicles in the =
powder.

No worries, mate.

Cheers; John Anderson
