Re: Oil Drain Plug

I've changed my own oil for the last 20 years of driving, on all sorts of
cars. My 9-3, or possibly my dealer, has made this tough It's almost
perverse.

I am facing another drain plug replacement,as the darned thing tends to
freeze in place, and the metal on the plug, clearly left over from Japanese
motorcycles of the 70's, rounds at the slightest hint of torque. I am using
a decent six sided socket, having rounded one in a prior attempt with a 12
point Sears socket. (that plug was replaced). Yes, I do know which
direction to turn it.

Unless my dealer is using a breaker bar to install the drain plug, has
anyone else had this sort of problem ? Is the plug a non even size ? (eg
12.5 mm ?)

This is so stupid I'm embarassed to post it, but something has to be up
here.
