Well, after all this discussion viz. Saabs and Alfas, comes speculation that
should GM's deal with Fiat allow the return of Alfa-Romeo to the US, that
the cars would be sold through--you guessed it--Saab dealers.

I read the speculation in a brief article on Alfa's return in the online
version of Automotive News (www.automotivenews.com). The reason appears to
be demographics, in that enthusiasts of both marques aren't likely to be
auto mainstreamers, using the description of 'Saab and Alfa customers as
'quirky and unique.' In short, they are not the types of people who go to
Cadillac or Chevrolet to buy a car.'

Personally, I have no problems with this, since I have admired Alfas from
afar for some years now. They may be even more 'alike' than Saabs are
compared with, say Swedish 'brick' cars...
