I think the major cause for the fogging is a leaking heater core. Of course
water inside the cabin would also contribute to this. There are a lot of old
postings on repair.

My previous Saab 9k suffered from water leakage. The problem areas were
failed glueing of the wind shield and rear quarter windows, carelessly
installed tail light seal (this would be in the area you mentioned), a rubber
plug missing on the floor panel and a strip of flange sealant missing from a
joint in the rear. These faults would let water in during wash or heavy rain,
to the extent that the carpet was permanently soaked and mould started to
appear. Also the floor panel started to rust from the inside.

It's worth mentioning that the water leaking from the rear lamp area will
make it's way all the way to the front, so I would highly recommed looking
under the carpet.
