It shouldn't be, but it is. The bolt that must come out to remove the belt
and tensioner is reverse thread, a fact which is not documented in the
Service Manual.

But actually the belt needn't come out - it just needs loosened. On the
2.3, one simply pulls up on the belt until one can place a 'locking tool'
over the tensioner spring/damper - after that, just move the belt aside
until the job is done. To remove the 'locking tool', one finds that
*tightening* that reverse thread bolt against the belt tension compresses
the tensioner. then the locking tool may be lifted out and teh bolt
released.
