The two door 900 was only imported to the US in 1985 and 1986 as the S
model. The 85 cars had an 8 valve motor and the 86 cars had a 16V. The
1985 brochure I have doesn't even list the 2 door, but the 86 brochure
does. I don't know how many were made.

The other rare C900 body style is the 5 door hatchback, only imported into
the US in 1979 and 1980. These were availble as GLE and Turbo, but there
may have been a base model too. This car has 4 doors like a 4 door 900 but
a hatchback like a 3 door 900. Not sure of import numbers.

Saab may have imported these car for more years into Canada. Both of these
body styles were available in Europe for many more years and benefitted
from annual improvements and updates to the C900 line.

I have two 900 5 doors, a 99 5 door and a 900 2 door coupe. They are
getting very hard to find in good restorable condition nowadays.
