Jerky Steering

Greetings, my name is Wayne and I was a former subscriber to the list until
a major hardware crash a year ago.  Now that I've finally gotten my hands
on all new hardware, I've resubscribed to this invaluable resource.

My 86 900 turbo has started doing a little quirky thing over the past few
days.  while driving at medium (35 to 49) speed, and under low throttle,
there seems to be a small, but noitceable jerking movement  in the
steering/suspension that is felt as a small jerk to the left in the
steering wheel.  It is fairly random and not persistant--I would feel it
jerk once, then nothing, then jerk again.

In looking at the archive info, there was a post from Joe Italiano dated
Dec of 1998 with the exact same symptom; however, there were no posted
replies to his problem.

Is anyone familiar with this occurence?  Has anyone else had this problem?
If so, how was your problem resolved?  Could it be a driveshaft/cv problem?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
