While your observations may be true for your cars, I
also have a 9-5 and a 9000 and my 9000 is the much
faster car. My '99 9-5 only has 170hp which I will
only call adequate. My '97 9000 Aero is rated at
225hp and 258 ft/lbs of torque. There are few cars on
the road that can out accelerate my 9000 Aero. I'd
say it is even faster to 100mph than a 9-5 Aero since
it doesn't require a shift to 4th gear to get there
due to its taller gearing.

I'm not trying to start a 'my car is faster than your
car' thread, but simply pointing out that 9000s can
indeed be faster than 9-5s depending on the model.
