The little fan that rattles all the time on the ACC cars is quite easy to
fix with some oil and a soldering iron. If you don't want to spend $100 for
a new one, here is how to fix the old one.

Use you favorite method to get to the back of the center console. I know you
have been there to replace the bulbs !!!!
With the unit in hand, either unsolder or cut one of the wires going to the
sensor up front. Do this right at the pin. You will then be able to hinge
the circuit board out of the way and this gives you access to remove the
central fan unit.
It uses a needle bearing approach. All you need to do is wick out all old
lubricant and replace with a small drop of medium viscosity oil, I used 3 in
1. Do this to both bearings, surface tension will keep the oil in the cups
as you put it all back together. Replace the sensor wire and then put the
car back together.
Turn the ignition on, radio off and listen to the silence !!!!!!!!
