I have a 1978 99 Turbo, and have gone through many of the steps you have
mentioned to update it.

The burgandy leather seats and matching panels are a different red than
the OEM set. I did not try to re-fit new panels, since mine were still in
good condition. Since Saab changed the front seat mounting in ~82
(guess), the leather seats were out of an 85, I used the bottom half of
the 78 seats refit with the leather and the top half (backs) the 85.
This required some cutting and welding on one side where that back mounted
to the seat. If you have access to a 1980-81 donor car this is already
done

As for the back seat, since I had a hatch back 78, I didn't have any
interfernce of the leather seat with the wheel wells. I completely junked
the 99 locking apperatus for the 900 set. This required that I mounted
the 900 brackets on either side that hold the seatbelt winder and allow
the seat to lock. Since I did not have a welder handy for the back seat
work, I just used the OEM 99 moutning hinges and cut out matching holes in
the back of the leather seat. This keeps the seat in place, but is
cumbersome for getting the seat in and out of the locking position.

This allowed me to update the seatbelts to the shoulder type. You 999
should have the nut for mounting the sling of the sholder harness wleded
into the body, in the upper reart quarter panelwhere the rear quarter head
liner piece fits in.

If you have a 2-door sedan model, then you may have some figuring to do.

As for 99 parts, I recommend calling SCAN WEST formally known as SCANDIA
AUTOSPORT, and SABB MASTERS in Seattle WA. Rob the owner has many parts
for the 99's or can keep his eyes open for the right price. He will ship
anywhere.
