thanks for the excellent site...I hope you can help me with my problem. The
first one is an unsure one, I don't know weather it is normal or not.... The
car is a Saab 900 SE,1994 model non-tubo-Manual Tranny.
1) Upon starting the car an air blower or pump turns on (emission control
purposes) the air device turns off after a few seconds, this is normal,.....
question.....while the air device is turned on it's relay and the ACC/AC
relay clatters, the relays are not Hard 'ON' but seems and feels as if being
fed by a pulsating DC voltage, the relays gets quiet when the Air Blower
(mounted in the front left bumper) turns of but.......

2) The ACC/AC relays still clatters (when the Air Condition button is turned
on) and there is no cold air coming from the registers,,,I discovered the
condtion '1' by accident because I was trying to find out what is making my
A/C misbehave.

Theory.....the relays are being supplied by a common power source that is OK,
they are being turned 'on' (sunk to ground) by their associated circuits by
grounding the other legs of their feild coils, but the 'sink to ground'
circuit are pleagued by this 'DIRTY' DCÊmaking the relays chatter when
activated.

The A/C relay (A/C switch turned 'ON')and engine started remains inactive for
approx 10sec. then it attemps to activate the compressor clutch, but does no
do so because this random relay chatter happens. Where is this signal
originating...seems to be acting up only on timed events, such as A/C 10
sec.delayÊhen the engine is started and the the air pumpturns 'on' for apprs
8sec. then it turns off have their relay chatter as well. Where is this
'Sink'volatge originating?, could the universal timing circuit be faulty on
this module maybe a leaking capacitor?... please help....I am sorry for the
length of this letter, I tried to anticipate any further questions that you
might have. Other functions of the car are all working OK. I am an
electronics technician by trade.

thank you for any help you can extend,
enrico de guzman
