Had the same heat gauge 'Problems' with my `86 900.
Thereīs a little cable connected to the temp sensor (
I guess) somewhere under the spark distributor. If
itīs loose, the temperature indicator needle will just
go nuts. Find it, clean it, re-attach it. Donīt know
if thereīs something wrong with your cooling/heating
system, but the gurgling sound you describe canīt mean
anything good. Is the water pump ok?
