The 9-3 presentation that Dan Chassins gave at the 2002 Saab Owners Convention
was great. He went through a presentation that included some benchmarks of
the new 9-3 vs the old 9-3 as well as against similar cars in the entry luxury
market (MB, Lexus, Audi, BMW). While I lament the loss of the hatchback, the
sedan allows Saab to work in some additional strengths that were hard for a
hatchback, such as a much more rigid body. They unveiled the car at the
convention too and it looks like a Saab which isn't too surprising, I mean,
I've already owned two 900 sedans, so it's not like it's the first Saab
900/9-3 sedan. ;-)
