The injection here is called 'CIS' for 'continuous injection spraying'
(well, something close). Unlike the electronic injection systems of today,
the mechanical system sprays continuously and the same amount through each
injector (more-less). You position the fuel lines so they fit, and that's
where they go!

Now as to the starting: it's fuel, air, compression, and spark. That's
all there is - no more, no less. You need to diagnose the system from
component to component, and when they're all there, it will start.
Fuel is easy - pull the injectors from the manifold (with the lines all
connected) and put them in a can. Remove the rubber bellows from the front
of the throttle to expose the air metering flap. Jumper the fuel pump
relay and pull up on the air metering flap. The injectors should
spray. If they do, go on to the ignition system. Similar procedure, pull
the plugs, get someone to crank the engine, and make sure there's sparking
going on. Getting them to run at all isn't usually a problem. Now getting
them to run *well*, there's the warm up regulator, fuel distributor, the
injectors themselves, and (for catalyst cars) the Lambda system. All these
must be working correctly, and no air leaks...
