The check engine light coming on for a short time on a '92 9000 when
coasting down hill in a higher gear is a normal transient event in
my experience. I had the same thing happen on this one long descent
in Vermont on my former '90 9000S when I was coasting in high gear
(manual transmission) and the foot was off the accelerator. It
happnes like clockwork on this descent. Once, you step back on the
gas it will go out. This doesn't represent a short- or long-term
problem.
